In February 2012, the NZMG Foundation and Duke Fertility Center in Durham, NC, created a partnership that allows Duke patients and staff the ability to access information and participate in the Foundation’s education program so they may increase their knowledge about infant domestic adoption as an option for building a family.
The Foundation provides a learning module about infant domestic adoption to patients enrolled in Duke’s Mind-Body Group, which meets several times per year. The group is for women and their partners struggling with fertility problems. In addition, the Foundation will also provide supportive training to Duke’s physicians and residents so they may increase their own knowledge base about domestic adoption.
Once patients have participated in the Foundation’s education program and decide to pursue infant domestic adoption as the way to build their family, they are then eligible to apply for a grant from the Foundation to assist them with the associated costs.
